Carrillo's Mexican Deli | Our Story
55 years of handmade food and neighbors
Carrillo's Mexican Deli has been feeding the San Fernando Valley for over five decades — not because of trends, but because the food has always been made the right way. It's the kind of place people grow up with and can't stop coming back to.
Handmade tortillas and tamales by the dozen
Everything at Carrillo's starts with handmade tortillas, both flour and corn, rolled and pressed fresh the way they always have been. That same from-scratch kitchen turns out housemade tamales in pork, chicken, sweet corn, and chile cheese, ready by the dozen for the whole family or the next get-together.
Mornings start with a breakfast burrito
Regulars pull in early for handmade breakfast burritos, chorizo and egg, carne asada and egg, machaca and egg, all rolled in tortillas pressed fresh that morning. Add huevos rancheros, chilaquiles, and a cup of menudo, and the day is off to the right start.
Generations at the same table
Customers who were brought here as kids by their parents are now bringing their own kids. That kind of loyalty — 20, 30, 55 years deep — isn't something you manufacture.
Rooted in Simi Valley
Simi Valley has been our home for decades, and the neighborhood shows up every morning. Same family, same recipes, same handmade tortillas that started it all — now feeding the people who grew up down the street.
